The multilayer protection system is the most effective steel coating system, since it is able to ensure a long lasting roofing solution, without maintenance, even in severe operating environments.
RESISTANT TO CORROSION
The service life of a metal roof is generally related to its ability to resist to corrosion. Being subject to continuous thermal cycles in the presence of high relative humidity, often full of corrosive substances, is the most severe operating environment condition for a metal.
As for the Ondulit protective system, steel is enclosed in a sequence of thick layers with particular characteristics which can make it virtually completely resistant to corrosive agents. This ensures high reliability even in the most aggressive atmospheres, near the sea or in industrial contexts.
An Ondulit roof is not afraid of rust.
THERMO - REFLECTIVE
The feeling you get entering in a parked car left in the sun is exemplifying of how much a metal roof, or a cement roof, overheats under the action of the sun, consequently spreading most of the heat to the areas below and giving rise to a real "grill effect".
Thanks to the reflective power of the surface coating in natural aluminum and to the thermal inertia of the protective layers, the multilayer system transmits only the 5% of the incident thermal load to the intrados, also contributing to the reduction of energy costs for conditioning.
An Ondulit roof provides the best thermal comfort in comparison with any other steel roofing.
SILENT
The noise of a metal roof subject to heavy rain or hail is very often underestimated. The noise caused by a traditional metal roof worsens the quality of life and work conditions in the spaces below it and, in some cases, it makes the building not fit for its purpose.
The multilayer system is the only one in which the protective layer is located at the extrados of the steel sheet, it is plastic and has such a mass to absorb the impact of rainfall on the plate, so that it does not vibrate, avoiding the rumble effect.
